THE TWO FACTORS OF THE GOLF BALL'S FLIGHT
The two factors that change the flight of the golf ball.

THE TWO FACTORS WHICH CONTROL WHERE A GOLF BALL WILL FLY.
The golf swing is simple. I will continue to state this obvious fact by addressing the two points which decide a golf ball's direction. The plane of your swing, it's road so to speak, and what the clubface is doing on that road, are the sole determinators of ball flight. It's vertical and horizontal angles combined with square, opened or closed face, combined with the inevitable coordination of both, comprise ball flight laws. They are based in physics. All golf pros understand and yield to them, poor players either do not understand them, attempt to disprove or fight them!
If you are not familiar with the famous directional sticks often seen on TV and used by the pros, I will acquaint you. These are the railroad tracks often referred to by instructors. All golf swings should start on those tracks and remain there throughout the swing. The clubface rotates along those railroad tracks by doing NOTHING! After placing your hands in the correct gripping position, you should never do another thing with them; just rotate your torso and shoulders back and forward. Your clubface will open and close naturally along the chosen plane unless you exert s force to the contrary!
In terms of the tracks themselves, the outside track where the clubface sits, is aimed at your target. The left, inside, track should sit at your toes. In the proper setup, a righthanded golfer should feel they are set up a touch left of the target because they are in fact slightly left. As club length increases so does the railroad track width or gauge.

Up, Down, Up, Up!
In terms of swing thoughts, this may be a good one: Up, Down, Up, Up. When the shoulders turn and arms go up on the backswing, that is up one. Down…
