The Core, once again!
PGA Pro Steve Sewell revisits the core: turn right to left, finish with belt buckle past the ball, and unlock longer, more accurate ball striking.

Are you ready to be a longer hitting, more accurate ball striker?! I'm going to address, once again, the turn. It is commonly called the turn, horizontal move, transition, weight shift, coil, rotation, pivot and many other terms. In ALL cases, it is the main source of power, it is a constant factor and the plane with which the vertical portion of the swing coordinates.
As a right handed golfer, we turn from right to left, which forces everything we own: hands, arms, body, club, chest, legs etc. to also move right to left thus making the golf ball draw from right to left. Watch kids kick a soccer ball with their right foot, it is exactly the same motion!!!
In another visual or physical move we see that during a proper golf swing, our belt buckle turns back 3" then returns to the target by turning approximately 9" to the left. When we achieve that finish, we have our full weight on the left side, we are at full height and cannot turn additionally left, which means we have completed the swing directly to the target. We CANNOT go beyond that point without breaking our left knee, so it is complete, full and constant. When we make the 9" move past the ball and on the way to your target, our belt buckle moves ahead of the ball. It should be aimed slightly ahead of the ball at impact, dependent upon timing. If your belt buckle is in that position, you are already solidly on your left side, ready to cover the ball and take a divot.
