Even though all good players follow the same basic setups and moves, there are personal traits and style variations that help a player to move better and accomplish the shot types they seek.
Generally only in the tee shot, there is the Reverse K, where the player sets the ball more forward, places his or her weight more on the right side for a righthanded player, thereby tilting the shoulders up to help launch the shot higher. Other than a truly balanced setup there is also the Stack and Tilt style that can be implemented for all shots. In this style, more weight is situated on the left side for a righthanded golfer. This helps to hit a lower type of shot with less body turn and coil.
Obviously some players choose to affect the ball flight through various ball positions within their stance. The nice thing about stance setups and ball placements is that they're done before the swing starts so there is no extra concern during the swing.
