You will hit the ball more accurately and longer if you decide to commit. Commit and full release are the same. Watch all the Touring pros: they FULLY release the angle of their wrists while they are FULLY releasing their turn to the target. In this way, the club goes all the way down and your body goes all the way around, hopefully in coordination. That's why we practice. Learn to make the moves, (two releases), regardless of what the shots do, when you're practicing. Totally release both while hitting shots: you'll learn to time the releases.

When we're learning to play better golf, we're learning to make a better physical move. It may not be athletically comfortable or coordinated, only a physical motion. But after a number of rehearsals, approximately 21 sessions, it should be an athletic move. The 21 practice times can be short and sweet, but should be separate. If you hit 20 balls for example, then take a break, putt, have lunch, then hit another 20, that will be 2 sessions. Soon the new physical move will be coordinated and balanced.

    Keep Practicing the Fundamentals

New lesson bookings are currently paused. Steve's article remains available for education, and ordinary simulator bay rentals do not include instruction.
