To create and maintain a good golf swing, it certainly takes practice, but quality practice. I'm not talking warm ups. Warm ups are just that; designed to get your muscles warmed up! Practice is a different world all together.

Quality practice involves the set up routine of Grip, Alignment, Stance and Position of ball always performed and always the same. The GASP: grip, alignment, stance and ball position should not only be the same each time, they should take the same amount of time. With a system like this, when you're in an anxious situation, and that's generally the environment of golf, you will have a game plan and world to operate in during these times. You, as a player, start the timeclock, and regardless of the difficulty, gallery size or tenseness of the tournament, you religiously go through your 8 - 10 second routine, then pull the trigger.

The routine just mentioned helps you maintain a quality swing. Next is the rhythm of your swing. Assuming your golf move is technically strong, your tempo is what makes or breaks the quality of shots. Working on maintaining the tempo of your swing is imperative once you've built the right moves. There are many drills and techniques available toward achieving this goal.
