1/2 swings, knockdowns and sawed off shots

The half swing which never disconnects, and is also called a knockdown or sawed off shot, is a sure fire winner. It is important to note that shots like this are hit at full speed. We are not attempting to hit a half shot at half speed, not at all. It is a half shot because it is a half swing, but with full juice!

As I have so often explained in my blogs, the vertical plane must coordinate with the horizontal plane to yield a well struck, coordinated golf shot. Our connection or coordination of these two, only exists while we are turning on the horizontal plane. During that approximately one foot turn, our arms, hands, shoulders and club are moving back and forward to about waist high in the back and front. After waist high on both sides of the swing, we are disconnected!

Since there is no disconnect, it is much more accurate; kind of like Tiger's Stinger shots! To play it, you set up the same as all shots, the only difference is your arms do not go much above your waist on the backswing, therefore finish somewhere near the same spot at your waist. The knockdowns are accurate and a touch lower since you're "sawing off" the finish.
